Cleaning your Living Room
Your living room is one of the best used rooms in your whole
house, you’ll probably notice that all of your family tend to
congregate in this room. The living room is used for a number
of different activities, from watching TV to having children’s
toys spread out all over the floor!
Toys and work can quickly accumulate in your living room
destroying the look of the room.
You should decide exactly what this room means to you, what
belongs in the living room? It should be for entertainment, so
the focal point will probably be a TV. You can purchase
attractive pieces of furniture to house the TV, stereo and any
other AV components. However these pieces of furniture are
expensive and take up a lot of space. If you want to change the
look of your room then you should consider using smaller pieces
of furniture to house your entertainment equipment.
If you’re like me and have lots of DVD’s and CD’s you’ll
probably find that these quite easily get spread out. I have a
pile next to my TV which doesn’t exactly look very nice. You
can tidy these away using racks, even a simple bookshelf will
be enough. You can also purchase freestanding racks and racks
that are fixed to the wall. The best place to store these DVD’s
is in a cupboard as they can’t be seen, this will also prevent
your children getting them out to play with! You shouldn’t
completely rule out toys in the living room, just let them keep
certain toys that they like in your living room. Just let them
keep a single box full of toys, they cannot keep any more toys
than this. You can let them change the toys in their boxes,
however if they fill up their box then they’re not allowed any
more.
Newspapers and magazines always end up cluttering up your
living room. To prevent this being such a problem buy some form
of rack to keep your newspapers in. By having somewhere to keep
everything you will be less tempted to leave it lying on the
floor. You must remember to clean out this tray at least once a
month, otherwise you will find it will be overflowing. You need
to be able to live in your living room, it can’t be a clinical
environment, but that doesn’t mean to say that it can’t be
tidy.
