LifeManagement101, Issue #017 -- Commit to Achieving Your
Objectives
March 17, 2008
Dear subscriber,
Commit to Achieving Your Objectives
Hopefully, you are here because you realize that having the
most concisely written goals, with the most positive choice of
words, with a prioritized list of what you are going to do and
how you are going to do is worth nothing if you do not follow
through. That follow through is called commitment. You must
commit to your plan to achieve your goals.
We all must realize that the world around us does not stop
just because we have a plan and goals. Just because there are
things that we want to do and need to get done the world pauses
for no one. So there will be days when accomplishing tasks and
achieving goals is easy and there are going to be other days
when even getting one task accomplished seems impossible.
On those days, it becomes hard for us to remain dedicated to
achieving those goals and objectives in a timely manner. It
will be easier to say, “Oh I can do it tomorrow,” but after
about seven days of saying that and you have already lost a
week. That lost week could set you back weeks or months which
will then make it easier for you to just walk away. Then you
are back to where you started from, and you have lost all that
you have achieved.
So it is important right now that you make a commitment to
yourself that you will stick to your guns, you will follow
through regardless of what else is going on. Your commitment
will help you achieve your objectives in a timely fashion. Your
commitment can be solidified with a schedule, setting up a
routine where you can set time aside each and everyday to work
on your objectives.
By doing this, you know that no matter what else happens in
the day that you will have 15, 20, 30 minutes or more to work
on your goals. No you may not get goal completely accomplished
but you are working towards finishing it. This will help move
you along and help you accomplish what it is you want in
life.
