Achieving Peak Productivity
It may be that the amount of time you spend doing what it is
you really want is the true measure of success. Money is
secondary, especially if you have enough of it to begin with.
So how much of your time do you spend doing things that either
aggravating you or are unnecessary? Realize that even rich
people get into stressful situation and want a solution that
works. More often than not, the best strategy is to eliminate
the sources of stress or aggravation.

The problems you face in your business may be caused in part by
your habits; perhaps you've always done things a certain way.
Changing the way you think and then following it up with a
change in action is likely the simplest way you can solve a
particular problem. For instance, is it your habit to check
your e-mail every 30 minutes? If so, realize that this habit
may be diverting your attention way from the important aspects
of your business, and that simply checking your e-mail three
times day might work. However, if you suddenly change this
habit, you may find people who have gotten used to receiving
immediate response from you to change their behavior towards
you. You also need to check the negative influences in your
business. For instance, most of your customers are wonderful
and easy to deal with, but there are a handful customers that
are just plain nasty and difficult to deal with. These bad
customers are the ones who are likely to use up your time and
affect you and your business negatively, in which case, it
would be best to "fire" them. When you've eliminated the
troublesome customers, you can concentrate more on provider
good service to your good customers.

Watching television or reading the paper may be another time
culprit for you so consider cutting back on your exposure to
these media. Besides, when has a public official or agency
contacted you about your opinion on the latest happenings? The
things you hear and see on TV and read in the papers are things
that are seldom relevant to you and your business. In addition,
most news today is negative anyway, so why would you want to
expose yourself to negative influences? Consider outsourcing
some of your non-business related daily chores. Your business
may be automated but you may be spending your free time doing
yard work, cleaning your house and doing maintenance. How much
is it to hire someone to clean your house every week or do your
lawn? If you're a pro at manual labor, you'll do a great job,
but if you aren't, you're much better off hiring someone else
to do the dirty work for you so you can really use your free
time on the things that you want to do. Achieving Peak
Productivity
Train your mind to stop thinking negatively and becoming
influenced by negative people. Try meditation, as it has been
proven a good way to clear your thoughts and give yourself a
break and your mind relax. With constant practice and conscious
effort, you will eventually be able to effortlessly break any
negative train of thought. It may also be to your benefit to
stop dealing with people who habitually dump their problems on
you. You can politely and courteously stop letting these people
take up your time and sap out your energy. Being a shoulder to
cry on is a good thing once in a while, but you shouldn't let
other people make a habit of whining to you about their
problems. We all have to deal with troubles and
responsibilities. One of the keys to run a successful business
is to know which responsibilities and tasks you can lessen or
eliminate, and which habits you must get rid off in order to
make your business and your life as stress-free as possible.
